Here's a list to help all of you wanting to start with site words. Since it can be overwhelming to get started I thought I'd compile a list of 101 words that not only can your kids memorize but they'll start picking up around them!

Hopefully that makes starting site words just a little less stressful. Even though you may choose to teach with phonics later, or are planning to send your children to a traditional school and are not sure what reading methods they will use, site words are still helpful to all children. Learning to recognize a large number of words helps children feel confident when reading.

Draw pictures of your favorite fruits/vegetables. 

Second Language:

Exploration: 
What juice could you make with your selections? Make an experimental juice and write down what you put in it. Did you like it?

Social Science: 
Classification: Match the juice to the fruit. Poor glasses of juice and have the kids try to match what fruits are in them by tasting them, looking at the color, and checking for pulp or seeds. 

Art:
Use fruit juice to dye white paint. What color does each fruit make the paint? Paint a picture of the fruit you used to make the paint color. 

Second Language:

Exploration: 
Can you taste the fruit flavors in other things? Make juice muffins, or other tarts have the kids guess what fruit(s) they were made with.
