Lesson Plan - Autumn/Fall

Here is our weekly Lesson Plan for Weather Week. Feel free to copy and modify this to fit your teaching style, and level! Please note: this lesson plan is not "instead of" but "in addition to" our regular daily pre-school activities. I only plan themed activities for 3 days a week, the other 3 days that we do 'pre-school' time with our children we use their regular activities unmodified for the weekly theme. To see our regular schedule click here.

Arts & Crafts: Leaf Prints! Take leaves from outside that are still fairly soft or if you have crunchy leaves leave them on a wet paper-towel for a few hours to soften them. Then press them into paint or ink stamps and "stamp" them against paper to make beautiful colored leaf pictures!
Discovery Time: Jumping In The Leaves! On Sunday night I plan to rake the leaves in our yard into a big pile, but before bagging them we're going to have a jumping contest! How far, how high and how many leaves can you make fly? Best part of this discovery time project? Mom get's some adorable pictures! (Caution: The reason I rake the leaves the day before is so we can carefully inspect them to make sure there isn't anything dangerous in the pile before jumping in.
